How does it work?

complicated. With GetYouTradeMark,
you can do it step-by-step,
digitally, and without legal stress!

Registrare un marchio
non deve essere
complicato.

Con GetYouTradeMark lo fai passo passo in modo guidato, digitale e senza stress legale!

1. Choose your trademark

But do it wisely.

It’s not enough to sound good. To be registrable, a trademark must meet some fundamental rules. Let’s start with two key concepts: Distinctiveness, Descriptiveness.

A distinctive brand is unique, creative, and recognizable. It makes you stand out in the market and can be registered easily.
Distinctive Examples
FruityLoops
For music production software
Velvet Panda
For a fashion brand
Get Your Trademark
For a digital trademark registration service
Originality Pays Off
An invented or unconventional name has a better chance of being truly yours
An overly descriptive brand name only says what you do or what you sell. And the law doesn’t allow you to “monopolize” common words.
Unregistrable examples
T-shirt Online
For a t-shirt e-commerce
Italian Coffee
For a coffee capsule brand
Logo & Name
For a graphic design service
Name too generic
If anyone could use that name to describe a similar product, it’s not a valid trademark.
Avoid these cases too
Offensive or vulgar words
Names that violate law, public order, or morality
Trademarks too similar to existing registered ones (we will verify before filing)

2. Choose the right classes

The Nice classification

Each trademark is registered for specific products or services, not in absolute terms.

Classes 1–34
physical products (e.g. software, food, clothing)
Classes 35–45
Services (e.g. marketing, training, consulting)
Some concrete examples
If you sell clothing
Class 25
If you develop apps or software
Class 9
If you do online training
Class 41
If you offer marketing services
Class 35
Important
you can register your trademark in multiple classes, but it's best to choose only the ones you'll actually use. More is not better — it's just more expensive.
That's why the Nice Classification exists: an international system that divides everything into 45 categories, called product classes.
